Muslim Students Prayer Meetings Success Stories While in IAUPR, School of Optometry, she had the opportunity to evaluate and diagnose a diverse diseased population in many cities in Puerto Rico. As part of the program, she provided primary eye care to veterans in Temple Texas VA Hospital. Once graduated, she did an Ocular Disease/ Primary Eye Care Residency in John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center after which she became the inaugural Fellow of Surgery affiliated through the University of Incarnate Word Rosenburg, School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. We will promote lifelong learning and provide support services to the profession in and outside Puerto Rico through high-quality technologies while maintaining the financial viability of the program. Goals To advance the mission of developing bilingual doctors of optometry from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds, with the knowledge, attributes, skills, and ethical values required by the profession. Promote a collegial environment based on ethical, democratic, and Christian-ecumenical values that favor the integral development of students and faculty. To provide the student with a learning experience based on academic and clinical rigor consistent with the development of the contemporary optometric profession. To have full-time professors who develop knowledge through research and publications. Promote efficiency and effectiveness in student processes and services in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations, as well as the standards of accrediting agencies. Demonstrate the educational effectiveness of the program through assessment of student learning in relation to the curriculum the school’s mission, and the degree conferred. Align resources, processes, and ongoing evaluation of these to effectively respond to program and service challenges and opportunities. Exercise administrative leadership necessary to advance the mission of the School of Optometry for the benefit of the program and students.
